Baby Daphne was the very first newborn I ever photographed back in October, now at 8 months she's just adorable. Ok, the entire family is freaking adorable!!!

I just love this story and I love this little lady!!! This is Paula (but I like to call her Aunt Paula, even though she is not my aunt), a couple years ago she had gastric bypass surgery and has since lost 140 lbs., yes that's right. You would never know it by looking at her. She looks fantastic, is eating right, exercising and keeping super healthy.

We started off at the Cambria Suites where both the bride and groom were getting ready and then headed to the venue at Spring Lake. Tip-C is a pit bull! I LOVE dogs period but have always been a little leery of pit pulls, and to be perfectly honest I've never been around one. I have to say that this 4 year old girl changed my mind. She was so much fun and such a sweetie! Piper was the first of the mini sessions that I had scheduled to benefit the Humane Society, unfortunately it didn't come together like I had hoped. Due to weather they got rescheduled a couple times and on the third try it was a freezing May day. Melissa, Keith and Brody thanks for braving the cold and WIND and coming out for the session. I really enjoyed our time together! Piper is a super sweet 4 month old puppy that loves to chew on anything she can get her paws on. Sweetness!

Zella is the cutest, she's like a little angel in hot pink glitter chuck taylors. She was the flower girl at our wedding and now she just had her first communion. This was a super fast session as it started to rain and we had to pull out the umbrella but it was fun never the less. I've been collecting these for a really long time, love each and everyone of them and felt it was fitting for this situation. I also brought my guitar cause she photographs a lot of bands and is a funky kind of girl. She brought the balloons and the VW bus just happen to be there. Needless to say we had a lot of props, and a lot of fun!!

This is one sweet family that I have known for a very long time. I still remember the day I ran into Robert at Wal-Mart on S. Florida in Lakeland about 15 years ago and suggested he give Rebecca a call. He did and about a year later they were married (I take full credit for getting these two together). Connie is gorgeous, I mean really gorgeous (and i think looks a little like Jennifer Aniston). Connie and I actually went to high school together many years ago and reconnected through facebook. A couple months ago, she contacted me to do a shoot for her next time I visit Florida. Of course I was thrilled and suggested an Urban Fashion shoot in Ybor City in Tampa. She obliged and off we went on our little adventure. And boy was it an adventure!!! The poor guy in the parking garage didn't know what was happening, every time we came back to the car she left in a different outfit, it was hilarious, not to mention "Skin" where she worked the wall like it was her job - lol.

Oh did I mention, she's a nurse?? Guys, wouldn't you like to get sick and have her take care of you??

Where do I begin talking about this wedding??? Well, it was gorgeous!!! the couple, the place, the details and the DAY (sunny with temps in the 60's in March is an absolute miracle in Ohio).
I think the weather just loves this couple, they wanted snow for their engagement shoot and by golly we had snow. They wanted sun for their wedding day and they got that too. So I say they are a lucky pair.
Back to the wedding itself. It was at the Thorn Creek winery located in Aurora, OH. The staff there really went above and beyond to make this wedding a great success. The family was fantastic, ceremony too sweet, and the father-daughter dance extremely special.
Special thanks to Kalyn for helping me out!!

What a sweet, sweet baby this little guy is. His name is Scotty and he has a head full of hair. Newborns are definitely a challenge and this one did not want to fall asleep no matter what his Mom and I did. Blowdryer, heater, food, 5 diaper changes and in 3 hours he probably slept for 15 minutes total. I had a great time no matter what. It was a pleasure hanging out with this sweetie and that little smile is precious.

Grace will be 1 on March 7th, so last Sunday was the perfect time to try a smash cake session. Mom thought she was quite the comedian and texted the picture below to me the night before the shoot. I looked at my phone and was horrified. Really?!?! this is the cake she wants to use?? Seriously? she's an art teacher for pete's sake, what's wrong with her? what am I suppose to do with that? Yes these were all the things running through my head as I held back the tears. I tried to be positive and convinced myself that i could make that work, I could fix the frosting, maybe write her name across the front and get rid of the gigantic "1". Thank goodness she called me before I went into full panic and told me it was a joke. She got me good!!!

Here's is the final result from the session. I think Grace looks like a little chunky angel baby.

Polar Bear Jump

On Saturday I attended the annual Polar Bear Jump. The event brought over 380 jumpers and raised $40,000 for the American Cancer Society. I was there to support a few friends who were making the plunge. It was super fun to watch but personally I rather just donate the money and not jump into a freezing like in February. The teaser image was fall looking but these definitely look like winter. It really was an amazing day, cold but no wind with a beautiful blue sky.

K&J wanted to bring their sweet puppy, Dakota, and I was more than thrilled.

Loved her carmel colored eyes and those huge floppy ears, I think I found Baci a girlfriend.

Up until now the only things I've posted on this blog have been images from my sessions. So I want to change that and introduce myself to those of you who don't know me. My name is Margaret and I'm in LOVE with the new venture in my life (Photography). I'm also a runner, a knitter, a sewer, a crocheter, a crafter, a Facebook junkie, lets just say I have way too many hobbies and I work full time. I used to blog a lot of useless info about running and knitting as "Runner with a Knitting Problem" but I don't have time for it anymore and will combine some of that stuff on this blog.

Bon Jovi is my favorite band of all time!!! And for some strange reason the only sport I watch on TV is the Tour de France, and only when Lance is participating. My favorite TV show right now is Modern Family and it almost makes me laugh as much as my favorite show of all time, The Golden Girls.

This past year I FINALLY got married to the man that I LOVE and have been with for 10 (yes I said 10) years. We had the sweetest little wedding where everyone invited not only RSVP'd but actually showed up (can you blame them, they've been waiting 10 years). Some came from as far as Poland, California, Arizona, Georgia, Florida, and New Jersey. I, myself, am from Poland. I moved to the states when I was 12 and didn't speak a word of English (ok I knew one word "window"), I lived in New Jersey and Florida, and 11 years ago moved to Ohio.

My husband and I share our home with the sweetest, most handsome puppy, name Baci (means "kiss" in Italian), you might have seen him on the blog a couple two three times :o). We are both crazy in Love with him. We also have a cat name Coopie. My husband has his own masonry business and is an amazing artist (click here to become his fan on FB) and he makes me laugh. . . . a lot!

We are both so lucky to have the greatest friends and family in the world. My Mom is my biggest fan and I am hers!

I've always had a fascination for photography. And there was always a camera within arms reach. Prior to our wedding I played with the idea of starting a Photography Business. With the help of my friend Nong and Mike I decided to give it a shot. So in October, I started my adventure. It led me to photographing amazing places, interesting people, and awesome pets. My clients have been great to work with. Never in a million years did I think it would take off like this. So far it's been a wonderful journey. Just about everyone was a referral from a friend or a friend of a friend and I even had one Google client. All in all I did 2 weddings, 21 family, pet, baby or engagement sessions. This year is already starting to get booked and I'm just thrilled. New and exciting things are in store for 2010, stay tuned.

Wedding Photobooks

Here is a sample 26 page wedding photobook (a real coffee table book) it's 8x10 but can be made in many different sizes up to a 12x12. The pages are made of real photopaper, it's sturdy and heavy, and the colors are fantastic. The best part about these books is that the pages lay perfectly flat, perfect for two pages spreads where the picture goes across both pages. I've tried a lot of different companies to create books and this might be my favorite to date. Enjoy!

I had the privilege of photographing Dozer (English Bulldog) and his Mommy Marisa on Saturday. We had a great time getting dirty with Doz, and I think we wore him out by the end of the session. I bet he slept like a baby that night.

Mini Holiday Sessions

What is a mini session you ask?
A mini session (up to 4 adults, kids and/or pets) is a shortened version of my full session. It lasts for only 30 minutes...but has the added benefit of 10-15 images on a CD for you to use for your Family Christmas cards etc.!

How much?
Everything for only $50, due at the time of the session.

When?
November 14th, weather permitting starting at noon. Please be on time so that you can take advantage of your entire 30 minutes.

Where?
Location to be determined based on interest.

Here's a little sneak peak from todays two family sessions. First there's Barney, featured in an earlier post. There's not much I can say about him, he's a doll. Then Sam (a St. Bernard) weighing in at a slender 135 pounds, what an absolute sweetheart. And lastly Max (long haired Mastiff), weighing in at 195 pounds, he's a gentle giant with a face only a mother could love. Of course I'm kidding these guys are all awesome and super adorable and so are the families that own them. More to come soon!

Meet Susan and Chief, what a fun pair these two were. Chief is a 6 year old, going on 2, black lab (very partial to this breed). Chief actually had so much energy that he had me chasing him all over the park. Thanks for a sweet workout!

My favorite thing about dogs are their noses, Chief has an exceptionally awesome nose with a perfect white polka dot beauty mark. Those who know me, know how i feel about polka dots :o) Love them!!

Arica & Adam Wedding

Arica and Adam were married September 12th, what a beautiful pair these two were. The ceremony took place at a lovely quaint chapel and it was gorgeous. From the unbelievable dress that her mom Pam made (yes she made the dress!!) to all the details that surrounded this wedding, it was amazing. Here are just a few shots I took!
